Feast on Friday Dinner Buffet at The Richmonde Cafe

Everyone loves Fridays. It officially sets the mood for the weekend rest and pushes our celebration button on as we get to spend quality time with friends, colleagues and family.

My Tummy is Full was recently invited to savor Richmonde Hotel Ortigas’ all-day dining Restaurant, The Richmonde Cafe’s Feast on Friday Dinner Buffet. Giving us another reason to look forward to and “Thank God it’s Friday!”

Richmonde Cafe joins the T.G.I.F. celebration as it offers its patrons a relaxing venue away from the hustle and bustle of the week, it invites us to kick the weekend off with friends and loved ones over a scrumptious buffet and drinks, right at the heart of Ortigas Center’s business district.

Salad and Soup Station Feature: Shrimp Bisque and Vietnamese Shrimp and Pomelo Salad

I started off my Friday feast with these two winners. The Shrimp Bisque was phenomenal. Richmonde Hotel’s Executive Chef Jessie Factor made sure to warn us of it being extra rich with its shrimp and crab aligue ingredients. Definitely not for the faint-hearted a.k.a. those with high cholesterol issues.  The Shrimp Bisque is not your ordinary kind, as Chef Jessie made sure she incorporated Sambuca in it, the licorice flavor to take out the stench that usually comes with seafood. The fusion of different tastes: sour from the tomato, salt from the shrimp, butter and cream balance everything out, giving you the perfect Shrimp Bisque recipe.

Every other salad from the spread was as delectable but I love the Vietnamese Shrimp and Pomelo Salad the best and the Grecian Tomato and Calamari Salad. I love that Chef Jessie used vinaigrette rather than the usual heavy mayonnaise, perfect for the summer season.

These are only few of Richmonde Cafe’s Feast on Friday offerings. It was a delight to see Chef Jessie Factor still reigning the kitchen of  Richmonde Hotel Ortigas. The hubby and I were very impressed with the food they served during the 2014 Christmas Tree Lighting event. I guess this is something I believe I agree with other foodies with. We always associate great food with those who are responsible for putting them all together.  I’ve been to different hotels and more often than not, we get introduced to a different executive chef on our next visit. While recipes might be home grown, for me, it tells a lot when companies get to keep their key people.  As I mentioned in 2014, the sense of family and home Richmonde has totally set them apart.
