Casa Italia’s Gelatonini and other brand new food offerings.
Gelato, being the creamier pick and a whole bunch denser, I’ll always choose in a heartbeat over ice cream. My being lactose-intolerant may have a lot to do with that choice but I always love the finer taste of gelato from the first time I’ve tasted one some decade ago.
#BestGelatoEver only in Casa Italia
Truth be told, not all gelatos are created equal. A good gelato is churned out honestly with all natural ingredients, like how Casa Italia whips up their celebrated gelato – zero artificial flavors, chemicals, colorants and preservatives. What I truly love about good gelato is the fact that it is generally lower in calories, fat and sugar as opposed to regular ice cream. And with the unforgiving Manila heat these days, downing things cold down our throat is sweet relief in beating the summer heat.
Gelatonini
Gelato in a Panini! Gelatonini is Casa Italia’s version of dirty ice cream in pan de sal – a well-loved Filipino snack. Personally, this comfort food brings in the best summer treat as it throws me back to reminisce a childhood favorite snack. Gelatonini comes in other interesting flavors, one of which is Ham & Cheese, which is composed of Casa Italia’s bestselling Formaggi gelato (cream cheese and cheddar cheese flavors) paired with succulent portion of smoked ham, sandwiched in between grilled buns of pandolce (Italian sweet bread).
Nutella Gelatonini
Don’t attempt to leave Casa Italia without trying this one out – irrisistible Nutella gelato in grilled Italian sweet bread. Is there a better way to have your Nutella? 🙂
Casa Italia
Casa Italia was founded by visionary serial entrepreneur, franchising guru Fox Hardegger. His vision for Casa Italia is to provide diners a unique concept that serves the best Italian comfort food using honest ingredients. Casa Italia originated in a simple gelato parlour in 2010 in Singapore under the name Gelateria Italia. It has since grown to almost 20 restaurants.
The rustic, colorful and warm ambiance of Casa Italia makes it the perfect hang out place for family and friends. Totally Instagram-worthy! Whether it’s a full meal you’re looking into or a night cap, Casa Italia has something in store to delight our taste buds.
Pumpkin Soup and Baked Chicken with Pomodoro Sauce
I’m totally playing favorites on this. I love the velvety-smooth texture of Casa Italia’s Pumpkin Soup with its crunchy bacon bits to delight. I learned as I finished my last spoon that it is naturally sweetened by the added carrot ingredient. Must-try!
The Baked Chicken with Pomodoro Sauce is something else altogether. For a cheese-loving family bunch like ours, this dish drenched in mozzarella cheese is already a sure winner on its own. But the thing to beat is how flavorful the chicken is underneath the cheese. Loved it!
Pepperoni and Blue Cheese Pizza
You will love the crispy thin pepperonis on a bed of generous mozzarella cheese, like I did. Casa Italia’s Pepperoni Pizza is nothing like your ordinary kind.
One of the staples that our family orders when we can is either a three-cheese or a four-cheese pizza. We all know that Blue cheese has got to be an acquired taste and it’s totally not for everyone. But I’m sure that this is going to be a favorite of my son when he gets to taste Casa Italia’s Blue Cheese Pizza. For some reason, whenever we order four-cheese, we always end up fighting over the Blue cheese part. I have a very good feeling that this is going to seriously end our Blue Cheese pizza craving. Can’t wait!
Hickory Pork Belly
Casa Italia’s Hickory Pork Belly is the bomb amongst all the Hickorys I’ve tasted so far. It is perfectly seared at the sides and flavor is exceptionally smoked and tender to the bite.
Midnight Surprise – Choco Lava Cake
Sunny Daydream – Apple Peach Cobbler
This huge serving is totally for sharing!
Liquoratto – Limoncello
When tropical heat is over the top, Casa Italia proposes a Liquoratto for a pick-me-up. It comes in the following flavors: Limoncello, Caffe Corretto, Tropical Bliss, Swiss Baileys, White Velvet and Pink Sensation.
