The Mango Tree Restaurant is a pretty popular dining place in a host of other countries and it has finally arrived in Manila. The grand opening and launch was held last October 11, 2010 in Trinoma Mall.
Mango Tree Bistro. What’s in the name? This was the question that played in my head. I mean if one would at all name a restaurant, it has got to come from something. And it did, the first Mango Tree Restaurant opened in 1994 in the heart of Bangkok in a beautiful Thai house built during the reign of King Rama VI. There was a mango tree planted in the courtyard area. This is where the name was derived from. Now more than the name, it is really the food that the people who love the restaurant keep coming back to.
Here are some of my personal food shots from the Mango Tree Bistro.
Taro chips. I love.
This lemongrass soup is something else. Very refreshing and flavorful. The perfect soup to jump start the feasting.
my runaway favorite from amongst the salads that we were served was the pomelo salad with shrimp bits.
Thai cuisine has distinctive flavor, which essentially comes form the blended perfection of the variety of spices they use in every dish. One of the more interesting things I have learned is that Thai food is naturally medicinal. It naturally brings health and vigor to every meal.
I was not able to get the names of all that we were served with. But one thing for sure is, it does not have to take a Thai national to figure that they were all good. I can pretty rely on my taste buds when it comes to that. Â Finally, a place we can all head to when we crave for authentic Thai cuisine.
My bestfriend Gina, who currently lives in London will surely enjoy this authentic Thai food offerings. Hopefully, when things turn out as planned, I will be able to go visit her and her family. Maybe we will get to try the Mango Tree Bistro in South West London. But if our Asia Pacific family tour dream pans out and we’ll be able to book flights to thailand from london, we might just get a taste right from the original branch of Mango Tree Bistro in Bangkok, Thailand. 🙂
Here is the interview that we were granted with by Mango Tree Bistro owner, Erick Teng.
