For us Filipinos, Noche Buena almost always translates to hamon and lechon. That wouldn’t be an issue if there are no senior citizens in the house and we are not much of a health buff. The thing is, we are now more health-wise in our food choices and we try as much as possible to neutralize the bad with the good, whenever we can. And while we have our beloved folks to make sure to take care of, that doesn’t mean we will not indulge in good food.
The “star” of our Noche Buena this year is this 1.3kg Gourmet Rellenong Bangus, which was hands down a runaway favorite of everyone.
We shared the feast, not the fat!
I posted the above collage of Fisher Farms Rellenong Bangus on IG a few hours before our Noche Buena. Yum! I’m definitely loving the fact that our Noche Buena this time around was a healthy one.
The hubby and I got a taste of the wide array of Fisher Farms goods at its product launch at Marco Polo Ortigas a week before Christmas. We have always loved Fisher Farms Smoked Deboned Milkfish, which we usually buy from Shopwise but we only found out during the launch that they have a handful lot of varied fish products.
Some of which are pictured above: Fish Frankfurters, Bangus Escabeche, Bangus BBQ, Bangus Teriyaki, Bangus Adobo, Bangus Sisig, Bangus Bistek, Bangus Ala Pobre, et. al. Everything bangus, they probably have it! Giving us no reason to get tired of good ‘ol Milkfish. 🙂
We also got a good helping of several Fisher Farms goodies at the dinner buffet during the launch. A spoonful of the Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus got me convinced that it has the makings of a main dish for Noche Buena. 🙂
The Gourmet Baked Rellenong Bangus is created by celebrity Chef and food expert Reggie Aspiras. The bangus is stuffed with a savory filling of fish, sweet potato, bangus belly, shrimp and other premium and special ingredients that give a holiday twist to this traditional dish. Juicy and flavorful but not cloying like its fried counterparts, the Gourmet Baked RellenongBangus makes any celebration merry and healthy.
Unlike the traditional rellenong bangus, Fisher Farms Rellenong Bangus is baked and not fried. This cuts down considerably on the fat content without sacrificing flavor. The relleno comes in three generous sizes to suit the Filipino family: 800-grams, 1.1 kilos, and 1.3 kilos. With bangus this big, you can definitely share the feast but not the fat.
With our freezer filled with Fisher Farms goodies, I have only this to say, we’re having the healthiest noche buena and media noche in living memory! 🙂
Fisher Farms grows its milkfish in the pristine seawaters of Pangasinan in fish cages, resulting to sweeter, more flavorful, firmer and cleaner fish. Only high-protein feeds are given to farmed fish to produce high-quality fish meat. Fisher Farms’ Gourmet Baked RellenongBangus is available in select supermarkets in Metro Manila and in select provinces around the country.
