There are Japanese restaurants, then there’s Japanese-Korean fusion by the name of Sandaya Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant.

Sandaya Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant is situated at the 3/F of Fisher Mall in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City

The comfy vibe of Sandaya Yakiniku Japanese Restaurant was inviting as soon as we stepped in. The restaurant staff are also friendly and accommodating. A conducive place and accommodating staff, two of my non-negotiables for any restaurant to have a place in my books. Now, good food is what tops my non-negotiables, I’m on that after the jump.

chopsticks, soy, seasoning plates and the grill contraption are all in place. I’m so ready to devour…

The rice tea was the first thing that was served as soon as we sat down. I’ve always been a fan of things healthy. Rice tea is a refreshing change from the overly sweet iced tea we get served in most restaurants. It’s something I think I will gladly associate Sandaya Restaurant to. Because there’s not a lot of asian restaurants who serve rice tea.

Japanese-style Beef Stew, P120
Flavorful beef broth with generous slices of premium beef
There’s soup, then there’s soup loaded with meat in it. This is what Sandaya Japanese-style beef stew is. It’s enough to fill. Delectable. I did find it on the salty side though when I was towards finishing my bowl.

The only way you can go wrong with Kani Salad is when you don’t use fresh ingredients. Sandaya’s Kani Salad is refereshing from first to last bite. It rightfully jump starts the upcoming feast as it is designed to.
Spicy Tuna Maki

Yakiniku + Lettuce
Apparently, the original way of eating Yakiniku is to wrap it in lettuce. The texture and crunch of lettuce complements the flavorful meat dipped in yakiniku sauce.

Milk Kintoki, P150
Milk Kintoki is Japanese halo-halo. It’s a perfect way to top a great feast of maki, tempura and a host of yakiniku. I was pretty much stuffed at this point and this sweet treat caps my Sandaya experience just right.
