The hubby and I almost did not make it to the Peppermill Restaurant & Mixology Bar lunch feast last weekend because our long awaited ISP setup guys decided to arrive unannounced just moments before we had to leave. We rushed right to the restaurant the instant the tech peeps left.
Yes, we were late, but because Peppermill Restaurant & Mixology Bar is just, give or take, 10 minutes away from where we live, we were still able to catch the group. Just a round up of my favorites from what we were served:
The mouthwatering Peppermill food collage that I uploaded via IG last Saturday. Follow me! -> http://instagram.com/jenaspacio 🙂
Rainbow Sushi, P395
Peppermill’s Rainbow Sushi goes beyond its artful presentation, that’s for sure. I just love how they played with the wasabi and strategically placed it as a green apple accent. This is made up of Smoked Salmon, Fish Tempura, Cream Cheese, Mango Salsa and Cucumber. The fusion of all ingredients gave this rainbow sushi the most interesting and pleasant texture. The sweet taste of the mango salsa, the tart taste of cream cheese totally complement the rest of the ingredients that makes this rainbow sushi a must-try! I am so going to order this when the hubby and I come visit soon. 🙂
The hubby’s drink of choice is Pandan de Rosa shake.
Mine is Virgin Lychee Mojito. I keep going back and forth and I can’t quite decide which one tastes better. I later concluded both are taste great. First time I’ve tried such flavors for shakes and my palate more than just approves. 🙂
Firecracker Sushi, P395
A California Roll winner in my books. Â Made of U.S. Scallops, Shrimp and Kani. Firecracker equates to a little spice which made it all the more scrumptious, if you ask me.
Vigan Pasta, P445
Vigan Longganisa, Sundried Tomato, Artichoke, Olives, Olive Oil, Spaghettini.
When we were served the Vigan Pasta, I honestly thought it was “vegan” and so did the hubby. Figured why he only placed a tiny helping on his plate. We only had to have a single swirl and we were ready for more. Haha! We love everything Vigan and the longganisa in this pasta surely made a distinct taste, complemented by the rest of the ingredients that translate to my now new favorite pasta. I swear I am so going to attempt my hand on this. Just because I would love to have this very often.
Norway
Encrusted Salmon, Sesame Nori, Unagi sauce, Mango Salsa and Steamed Rice.
I was never much of a fan of cooked salmon. I only used to like salmons raw dipped in Japanese soy and wasabi, that’s it. This is the first time that I appreciated salmon that’s cooked. The mango salsa and the encrusting of the fish gave it an interesting texture that appeals to the palate on every bite.
Trio Pizza, P565
Peppermill’s Trio Pizza allows diners to create their own sampler. From left to right are:
- Cinco de Mayo: Mozzarella, Cheddar, Fontina, Cream  Cheese, Padano
- Torre de Greco: Arrabiata, Rock Shrimp, Sundried Tomato, Arugula, Mozzarella, Anchovies
- Ilocos Bagnet: Eggplant Casserole, Bagoong Relish, Scrambled Egg, Mozzarella
This TrioPizza is love! I totally dig this combination. It’s like me and my boys. Our son is a cheese monster through and through. He would so love the Cinco de Mayo pizza. The hubby is a big Bagnet lover. And I’d go for Arugula any day. I love greens! It totally balances the rich tastes of either pizzas and Torre de Greco itself is lip-smacking good on its own.
I shouldn’t really be the least surprised why every single food offering I’ve tasted from Peppermill Restaurant, is so good. Chef Vince Rodriguez, Owner and Chef has been catering to regular clients like Kris Aquino, Ogie Alcasid, Judy Ann Santos, Cacai Velasquez, Dr. Vicki Belo, to name a few.
Peppermill Restaurant & Mixology Bar opened last March 8, 2014 after being in the catering business for seven years. Finalizing this post totally made me crave. Pardon my typos (will get back to them later) as I drag my boys to Peppermill Restaurant just about now. 🙂
