The hubby and I super love Japanese food that it’s almost a default for us when we want to go food tripping. Unless we happen to crave for steak, that is. The thing about Japanese restaurants in the metro, there aren’t a lot of affordable ones.
There is this recently launched Japanese restaurant on the block by the fun name of Tokyo Joe, located at the Spark Place along P. Tuazon, Cubao, Quezon City. Tokyo Joe is a casual Japanese restaurant that serves the Gyudon a.k.a. Beef Bowl Misono, the 100-year old Japanese recipe of rice topping with the option to enjoy complimentary items like drinks, California Maki, Age Gyoza, or other sidings to go with it. I love that I can throw in add-ons according to my “Japanese” mood. I have yet to see a restaurant that allows for diners to customize their plates like that.
First time diners loving first dibs of Tokyo Joe 🙂
Am I in Maki heaven? My favorite amongst these maki varieties is the Super California Maki! Must, must, must try! 😀

There are three upgrades available for a Donburi, Bento or Ramen:

2. Sides upgrade (P75) – 3-piece Gyoza, Yakimeshi, Ika Ring, Kani Salad or Fish Fingers and regular iced tea

Who’d say no to Unlimited Rice? 🙂
Incidentally, we found out that Tokyo Joe is also run by the same owners of another Japanese place that our family loves – Rai Rai Ken. In fact, just the night before we were at Tokyo Joe, we dined it at Rai Rai Ken. If there’s anything we love about the latter, it is their being consistent about the quality of their food offerings. They have not changed over the years. That tells us a lot about Tokyo Joe, since they resolve to keep the quality topnotch of this newly launched Japanese fast food restaurant.
