This coming July 27, 2013, Amici is having a Pizza Fest where patrons get to avail of their special Buy 1 Take 1 offer on Amici Pizzas! For every pizza ordered, you get a free pizza among Amici’s top pizza offerings, the Tutta Carne or the Margherita. This promo will be available in all Amici outlets and is available for all dine-in and take-out transactions. Please note that this does not include City Delivery transactions.
Before I head on over to enumerate all 10 new delightful dishes of Amici, here’s worth mentioning – Amici being a tad cozier with the homier feel of its lovely interior and all those photos of the restaurant owner’s family.
Totally makes it all the more conducive for gathering, with what its name denotes in Italian, “friends.”
Amici’s 10 New Products to Celebrate its Anniversary
Asian Chicken Salad, P195
Not just because I’m a sucker for salads with fried wonton strips, but the mix of the breaded chicken slices, oranges and carrots in bed of greens dressed in my sesame dressing is made to perfection. I can honestly eat this the whole day with no complaints.
Mediterranean Blue Cheese and Walnut Salad, P195
Just when I thought I have had enough helping of one of the better salads I have tasted, this combo of blue cheese, candied walnuts, arugula, and grapes combo over greens and served with red wine vinaigrette got me convinced that the play of tastes of the sweet brittled walnuts can go so well with the unique flavor of blue cheese and the freshness of the grapes. I don’t think I will be visiting Amici without ordering another helping or two of this.
Truffle Mushroom Pizza, P430
A luxe choice with portobello, shitake, and porcini mushrooms, mixed with truffle oil, mozzarella cheese, and topped with Arugula.
Smoked Salmon Top-Crust Pizza, P395
An innovative pizza variety with smoked salmon, capers, black olives, tomatoes, béchamel sauce and mozzarella cheese embedded in a crispy pizza crust.
Prosciutto & Artichoke Cream Pizza Roll, P242
This one is a fresh take on the rich flavors of artichoke cream, cream cheese, prosciutto, and arugula, all tempered with reduced balsamic vinegar. Definitely, a must try!
Prosciutto Portobello Pizza Roll, P242
A soon-to-be fave with prosciutto, portobello mushrooms, cream cheese, and arugula served with roasted garlic dip.
Penne Rosa & Bacon, P252
Penne Rosa & Bacon is a combo of bacon, pomodoro, and bechamel sauce sautéed with mushrooms, garlic and onions. Flavorful through and through.
Garlic Chorizo Spaghetti, P250
This pasta dish of Spanish chorizo sautéed in garlic and olive oil won me over at first bite. It may have something to do with my being Filipino and being fond of tasty treats like chorizo. 🙂
Breaded chicken meal goodness in tomato meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, served with rice pilaf and a side of roasted vegetables.
This rolled pork specialty filled with ham and cheese, button mushrooms, and cream, all reduced in marsala wine and served with rice pilaf and a side of roasted vegetables, reminds me a lot of cordon bleu, only better. I’m totally loving how the roasted veggies complement the package. 🙂
What’s an Amici visit if we do not treat ourselves to a helping of its very own Cara Mia Gelato? We got to choose from Ferrero, Sans Rival or Pistachio. With gelatos, I always choose the latter for a default flavor and that’s not just because my last name sounds like it. It’s just something I got used to. 🙂
Brazo Gelato, P 125 slice / Php 795 whole
A gelato twist to your favorite Brazo de Mercedes. Rich custard flavored gelato on a bed of crushed graham, surrounded by a layer of soft meringue and capped with light Italian meringue. All foodies got to take home one of this. I brought mine to share with our ministry leaders last week. They all loved it judging from it going gone in just a few minutes. My first to have tried a brazo de mercedes in ice cream cake form. I now know where I will nudge the hubby to get my next birthday cake from. 🙂

Tuloy Foundation and Amici
When Mr. Danny Moran, current President & CEO of Amici Foodservice Ventures, Inc. (AFVI) first touched bases with the Salesian Priests of Don Bosco to explore opportunities in early 2007, what should have been a regular business meeting between strangers quickly became the forging of a warm friendship. Both Mr. Moran and Fr Rocky Evangelista, who represented the Salesian Priests during the discussion, were pleasantly surprised to discover their common passion for football and their similar vision of providing opportunities for children born into unfortunate circumstances. It was during these lively discussions that the business negotiations were finalized. Anchored on these two passions, Amici, the Salesian priests of Don Bosco and Tuloy Foundation continue to maintain a friendship and partnership that goes beyond food and business.
