It has been a while since we last visited Bohol and we remember the Tagbilaran province with such fondness. We are seriously considering visiting again in 2017, even if there are still places we have yet to visit within the country. We really loved how beautiful the Boholanos are, for the most part.
You can book a hotel in Bohol in advance through online booking sites like Traveloka. We chose Dumaluan Beach Resort because Bohol Beach Club has no more rooms available during our stay. And since our priority was a beach front, there was not much of a choice. The resorts within Alona Beach are not beach front ones. While a block or two might not be a biggie, there’s just something about having your room right smack the beach.
Our family’s overall experience with Dumaluan Beach Resort was overall good, but I confess that the staff can do better with their service.
The beach front restaurant was the bomb!
Dumaluan Beach Resort’s lovely beach front view makes up for whatever inconvenience we experience during our check in. I love the serenity of the place, the restaurant with the beach for its backdrop summoned us in, with the shore being a whole tad cleaner that that of Boracay’s.

Because we got to the resort around lunch time, we devoured on some of the restaurant’s bestsellers including, Pork Sinigang, Kinilaw na Tanigue and fruit shakes: Banana: Mango and Watermelon. Nothing beats dining afront the beach.

Dumaluan Beach Resort Executive Double Room
Dumaluan Beach Resort’s Executive Double Room is huge! We were amazed at how spacious the room is. It is fully air conditioned, with water heater, cable tv, refrigerator and breakfast for two persons. We got more than what we expected when it came to room size, with no less than a king sized bed to boot.
Truth is, we are not very particular about room amenities for as long as we can sleep comfortably. We do not actually stay in any of the hotel rooms we book. We often go around exploring places when we are on vacation, so being able to score such lovely room was a bonus for us.
Some of the Bohol Attractions that we were able to go visit:
- Chocolate Hills
- Tarsier Conservation Area
- Mahogany Forest
- Baclayon Church
- Blood Compact Monument
- Can-olin Butterfly Sanctuary
- Loboc River Cruise
- Bohol Bee Farm
- Hinagdanan Cave
- Bamboo Hanging Bridge
Tagbilaran lies in the southwestern part of the province of Bohol, Philippines. It is considered to be a 3rd city income class with a population of 105,051, according to the 2015 census.
If you happen to visit Bohol anytime in the future, I highly recommend that you book with Tatsky for your personal tour guide. He was also referred to me by a good friend in church and a fellow blogger, who both availed of his services. All of us only have good words for this guy.
We are totally looking forward to revisit Bohol and we might just book with Dumaluan Beach Resort all over again.
